There is a good web site at getwelluk.com for those interested to learn more about Homeopathy in practice together with other C A M therapies.

Gary, and Don:
While your heartfelt plea is stirring, I am saddened to see yet 2 more people who have been sucked into the scam that is Homeopathy. I can appreciate that it feels compelling that when you started taking Homeopathy, your illness went away.
Yet if I were to say that I attributed my change in health to the fact that I visited a Greek restaurant *immediately* prior to my symptoms lifting, you’d correctly tell me that I had made an error in judgement. Such is the very same error in judgement that you (both, I assume in Don’s case) are making here.
The skeptics in Vancouver who were involved in the overdose are *very* well-versed in the babble that is Homeopathy. They take this very seriously, *so* seriously that they have invested a significant amount of time understanding the dogma of Homeopathy and the necessary implications of that dogma. And *because* they have studied it, they have realised that it is just nonsense. Pure, unadulterated nonsense.
Should you live in the Vancouver area, I invite you to come speak to any of the skeptics on this topic, and I assure you that (should you come with an open mind) you will learn that A) yes, we know *exactly* what Homeopathy is about, and B) it’s indefensible.

Brian, I appreciate the wisdom. I would recommend to people like Gary and Don to learn about the history of how homeopathy came into being. I think it was like the 1600’s in Europe (possibly England?)and it was the next step in evolution from when doctors would do things like drain the blood of their patients and in fact heighten the risk of death (hence a neutral or placebo effect is a more beneficial practice). Just a little evidence among more.

Brian,I don’t know where or when you came to the decision to rubbish Homeopathy.
Let me mention the good work being carried out in Cuba at present and Hiati wher practioners are treating with success, the diseases being encountered in these countries. This is plainly Homeopathy working and how could you deny this is happening.

Don, I came to the decision to ‘rubbish’ homeopathy after spending a significant amount of time reading about the claims and methods that homeopathy employs.
I would agree that anyone who is bringing supplies (food and medicine) to people in Cuba and Haiti is doing good work, and should definitely continue to do so.
However merely asserting that “practioners are treating with success” is just empty hot air: if you’re giving people something that doesn’t work, then their recovery has zero to do with what you gave them.
I’m sorry that you don’t understand that ‘some illnesses are self-limiting’ or that ‘some symptoms come and go’, or even that ‘giving something that has no mechanism for action, at all, can in no way be responsible for any remission of illness that follows’.
These seem like pretty simple ideas. I don’t know why you don’t understand them.

Brian, What books are you reading, who are you listening to ? ah sensless about science , Quackbusters , 10.23 . perhaps you have been watching too many magicians (all probably funded by Big Pharma).
Tell me when did you have treatment by a registered faculty member that failed so miserably that left you laughing all the way to the allopath and big $ pharma .
I suppose you are going to say it’s the sugar pill, where’s the science. Are you now an expert witness against homeopathy you have read all the trials? I don’t think so.
HERE IS ONE RCT YOU HAVE NOT READ; 1942 MUSTARD GAS CONTROLLED TRIALS CARRIED OUT BY THE MOD IN ENGLAND WERE HOMEOPATHY WAS FOUND TO BE EFFICACIOUS IN PREVENTING BURNS ETC.
The problem with sceptics is that they are all singing from the placebo/sugar pill song sheet. This may be a classic argument that Big Pharma has seen to it that Magicians, comedians and any other Pharma phloozie can gain publicity on its behalf.
I see a Quackbuster site has been busted by the courts in the usa. The site owner earned $40grand a year and the court wanted to know where the $100,000 came from to run the site. I wonder who paid the mouthpiece…
You should get out a bit and see for yourself where homeopathy is working. You can talk all day about science and sugar pills it doesn’t wash with me or millions or perhaps trillions who have been treated with Homeopathy successfully.
Answer me these questions ;
1 Why is Homeopathy so widespread all over the world? if it did not work it would not survive. This is more than anecdotal evidence and sugar pill, this is fact.
2 Are you saying patients are deluding themselves, imagining illness or betterment thereof. Tell this to the sufferers with Leptospirotis in Cuba what self limiting come and go.What rubbish .
Please don’t tell me my own treatment was self limiting, ok this does happen assuming your immune system and underlying health/DNA is good but in most cases it is not. Of course, what a fool I am, I forgot, the good ole placebo yes yes… let me see now-how many placebos, trillions I guess throughout the world. Oh I have just realised -Its the world that’s wrong! Sceptics ,quakbusters Magicians, comedians and overdosers are right.
3 Why is there this scurrilous and vicious structured campaign against Homeopathy if it is just placebo and sugar pills and therefore nothing to worry about?
4 Earlier you Questioned my judgement for using Homeopathy . Let me tell you I have been treated successfully for a long standing metabolic illness and no it did not just get better of its own accord and it was not self limiting.
I fear you and other extremists are viciously prejudiced about Homeopathy, but my view is, unless you have experienced /assessed it for yourself you are not in a position to try and convince the public that your polarised and prejudiced views about this holistic medicine are justified.

Good morning. I am writing to comment as well as share my thoughts and feelings about this campaign to discredit homeopathy treatments and remedies.
The CBC “Marketplace” program was not a thorough dissection of the topic by any means and truly shouldn’t be interpreted as such. Unfortunately, banners are flying high because of it.
I have been utilizing homeopathy for many years now under the care of professional practitioners and have benefited tremendously from them whereas I have also attempted prior treatments via the allopathic sector and results comparatively speaking were negative. I discovered that these medicines side effects side effects caused me harm so I stopped. I gave them due diligence but no success.
Then one day many years ago, I found myself going to a homeopathic doctor and from that point onwards, my well being has immensely improved.
So paying attention to what is evolving locally and globally as a hard attack upon homeopathic therapy, I am shocked and saddened by this stance.
I strongly feel that there is a huge lack of misinformation, understanding and education that is fueling this campaign.
If anything, we should be rejoicing in the fact that we have a variety of possibilities and options in treatments instead of attempting to pit one against the other.
This is huge mistake in my opinion.
I submit my objection to this campaign against homeopathy based wholly on my personal experiences and well being. What is being done here and proposed is wrong, I have no hesitations in saying this.
Thank you for taking the time to read my words as well as the opportunity to voice myself.
Sincerely…Gary
