Last month, when her party endorsed a unanimous motion to condemn Israeli Apartheid Week, NDP leader Andrea Horwath came out against the move, stating that "singling out activists or shutting down debate, on this or any other matter, is not constructive and is entirely unhelpful." But apparently not any other matter. Less than a month had passed before this champion of free debate was instructing MPPs in her party to boycott an open exchange exploring another controversial question: the public funding of Catholic schools in Ontario.
