CFI Book Club: Infidel
CFI Vancouver is proud to launch a brand new book club for skeptics, humanists, freethinkers and anyone else who wants to drop by.
On Saturday August 14 th at 1pm at The Grind coffee shop, CFI Vancouver’s Book Club will meet to discuss Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s popular and controversial book Infidel . This book describes her childhood and upbringing in Somalia, Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia and Kenya. It then documents her move to Holland where she became a member of parliament and an outspoken critic of religion in society. Infidel illustrates her struggle with her Muslim upbringing and coming to grips with her own beliefs throughout her own experiences in various countries.
Infidel
is available from the Vancouver Public
Library or in paperback from most Vancouver book stores. Please make sure to
read the book before the meeting! CFI Vancouver’s Book Club will be meeting
every second Saturday of each month at 1pm at The Grind Coffee Shop on Main
Street. September’s book will be The Physics of Star Trek by Lawrence Krauss.
Copies of the book are available for purchase through CFI Vancouver, or can be
found at the Vancouver Public Library.
