CFI Vancouver is proud to present a talk by PZ Myers on July 30th! Purchase tickets ONLINE HERE
PZ Myers will discuss the controversial role of Atheism in the Scientific battleground. He will explain what it means to scientists when they have to defend scientific theories not just from pseudo-science but also religion disguised as science, as in the evolution vs creationism controversy. There will be a reception after the talk but space is limited to reserve tickets early!
PZ Myers is an associate professor of biology at the University of Minnesota, Morris and the author of the science blog Pharyngula . A public critic of intelligent design and of the creationist movement in general, he is a self-avowed "godless liberal" and outspoken atheist.
A vocal skeptic of all forms of religion, superstition, spirituality and pseudoscience. His public critique of intelligent design (ID) and of the creationist movement earned him a role in Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed and a subsequent banning from the premiere showing.
The talk will be at the University of British Columbia in Westbrook Building room number 100 at 7pm with a reception later that night at 9pm.
