CFI Vancouver encourages critical thinking at John Edward’s event
CFI Vancouver has learned that John Edward, a self proclaimed medium is visiting Vancouver on Sunday the 15th at 2pm.

John Edward is a medium and cold reader who applies his trade to desperate people who are grieving over their lost loved ones. Edward gives them false hope and violates the memories of these people by making up stories about them. For an understanding of who Edward is and what he does, see here
CFI Vancouver believes it is within our mandate to stand up to this kind of hustling of the vulnerable. Previously we handed out flyers encouraging people to "Think Critically" about Deepak Chopra, now we plan to do the same to Edward.
This event will take place during Edward's event. We should meet early, around 12pm to make some last minute plans, and then set up outside the location for his talk. We'll hand out flyers based on Ray Hyman's Guide to Cold Reading. See it here
This guide has been successfully used by other skeptic groups when psychics and mediums come to their city. Notably, the Ottawa Skeptics when Sylvia Brown came and recently the new branch of CFI Okanagan when Brown was in Kelowna.
We'll meet at 12 noon in Portal Park at W Hastings and Thurlow St.
